Enyimba forward Onyekachi Peter has said his side will not disappoint at the Premier Soccer League (PSL) giants, Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Nigerian champions will be the guests of the South African side in Wednesday’s Caf Champions League Group B matchday 2 clash at the Lucas Masterpiece Moripe Stadium in Preoria, South Africa.

The Nigerian campaigners were benched 0-1 on home soil in Port Harcourt by the Egyptian opposite, Zamalek SC while Mamelodi Sundowns saw their heroic 2-0 win at Algerian side, ES Setif count for nothing after the African football body, Caf, found the North African side wanting on a rules violation.

Peter said his side are condemned to heave themselves back to group qualification with a convincing win at Mamelodi Sundowns.

“The clash at Mamelodi Sundowns is a must win for us to chance qualifying from the group after a matchday 1 fixture clash loss to Zamalek of Egypt. Naijabet.com

“Although Mamelodi Sundowns’ victory at ES Setif has been cancelled leaving both sides square without a point but we know we have played more matches than the South African side so the only hope of further claim on the tickets is outright victory.

“It will not be easy at Mamelodi Sundowns, who are already bruised with the victory cancellation and will want to prove to their teeming supporters that the win at ES Setif was not a fluke but well deserved.

“However, we have been on this path in the past and know what it takes to survive such a high tempo game.

“We have worked on the mistakes that hampered our game against Zamalek to ensure we claim a favourable result at Sundowns.

“We will not disappoint Nigerians but claim a win to convince them of our readiness to reclaim the African title we won back to back in 2003 and 2004,” said the former Abia Warriors marksman to supersport.com.

Enyimba and Mamelodi Sundowns are without any points in Group B led by the Egyptian giants, Zamalek SC, on three points. The top two teams will progress from the group to the semifinals.
