Sometimes, players move to a big club for either money or with the hope of getting more minutes. But it has not always worked out like that for some players. Players like Julian Draxler, Anthony Martial are not even picked in the squad and other young players who just need a move away in order to show their true potential.

Many of these footballers who are going to be listed here will surely get right into the starting 11 of a mid-table or even a top team in the major leagues. Being limited to just substitute appearances is no good to players of their caliber. Let’s take a look at some of them.

#1 Danny Rose

Danny Rose was an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs squad in the 2015/16 season and also to an extent in the 2016/17 Premier League campaign. He donned the left-back position making it his own and was especially impressive. But in the 2017/18 campaign, he was pushed out of the squad by an in-form Ben Davies who put in commanding performances from left-back.

Davies’s form made sure Rose was only limited to 10 appearances in the league. Even though he was injured for 12 game weeks, he was neglected for the remaining fixtures given the red hot form of Davies.

Davies, being younger than Rose, might be the first choice for Pochettino but given that Rose is only 28 and has a good 3-4 years left in him, it would be a steal for any team and also give Spurs a chance to cash-in on him while they still can. With interest from many clubs in the top 5 leagues, it wouldn’t be tough for him to find a new home, rather it is Spurs who would have lost a talented full-back who will surely be difficult to replace.

#2 Munir El Haddadi

He has had a couple of loan spells with Valencia and Alaves over the previous 2 campaigns. Although his Valencia stint could be argued to be not so inspiring, he did have a good season for a struggling Alaves, involved in 16 goals in 33 appearances in the league (10 goals, 6 assists). The La Masia graduate who was promoted to the team in the 2014-15 campaign by Luis Enrique from Barcelona ‘B’ squad has found it tough to break into the first-team given the array of stars who are ever present in the Barcelona attack.

Primarily a centre-forward, he can also play on the wings and will be a bargain for any mid-table team given that he is only 23 and is bound to improve.

#3 Danny Drinkwater

The driving force alongside N’Golo Kante in midfield during the title winning campaign for Leicester City in the 2015/16 season is now warming the bench for Chelsea. During the 15/16 campaign he made 35 appearances in the league, contributing to 11 goals from a defensive position.

Last season, he moved to Chelsea on deadline day and made just 12 appearances in the league, starting just 5 games and coming on as a substitute in 7, scoring a solitary goal. Although he may not be a world-class player of sorts, he is still a useful player for a team lacking in midfield and they would be glad to have him in their squad.

With Maurizio Sarri completely ousting him from the squad, not even including him in the Europa League squad, its high time he moves to a club where he can put in some valuable 

#4 Anthony Martial

He was impressive during the first half of the season last time around but ever since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez, he has been pushed down the pecking order.

talented French forward was signed by Louis van Gaal as a teenager and he did surely have an impressive debut season in the Premier League scoring 11 and assisting 4 in 30+ appearances. But ever since, he has not lived upto his potential when given the chance to shine on the big stage.

Still only 22, he has a lot of time to resurrect his career and achieve the stardom he was destined for in the first place.

#5 Julian Draxler

The talented and versatile German has already played at 3 different clubs despite just being 24. Since his move from Wolfsburg, he has played in a variety of positions for PSG, playing as a left-winger, attacking midfielder and as a midfield player helping in defense.

Ever since Neymar’s record breaking move from Barcelona last season, he has been limited to substitute appearances or as a backup player. Although he made 30 appearances in the league, he started just 19 and made 11 substitute appearances.

Despite being just 24 and also with his versatility it is only good for him to make a move where he can play week-in week-out to prove how good a player he is.
