UCL – Real to play Legia behind closed doors

Real Madrid’s trip to Legia Warsaw in the Champions League next month will be played behind closed doors after the Polish champions lost an appeal with Uefa.

Legia were originally punished two weeks ago for crowd disturbances during last month’s humbling 6-0 thrashing at home to Borussia Dortmund.

They appealed but that was rejected on Wednesday, meaning Legia must now host the reigning champions on November 2 in an empty Polish Army Stadium. Naijabet.com

The club was also fined €80 000 for the incidents which included racist behaviour and fighting among the home fans.

Having also lost 2-0 away to Sporting Lisbon, Legia are bottom of Group F after two games.

They were the first Polish side to qualify for the Champions League group stages for 20 years.
