Speculations linking Super Eagles captain Mikel John Obi with a move away from his current employers, Chelsea continues to mount.
Mikel has been frozen out of the Blues first team by Italian manager, Antonio Conte, and has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Premier League leaders this term.
The Guardian is now reporting that Mikel could be on the verge of joining Italian club, Inter Milan, should their pursuit of Liverpool midfielder, Lucas Leiva prove unsuccessful. Naijabet.com
The 29-year-old Brazilian is Inter’s preferred choice but Lass Diarra (Marseille), Milan Badelj (Fiorentina), Luiz Gustavo (Wolfsburg) and Mikel are other options.
Meanwhile, Mikel’s agent John Shittu says there are offers for his client from many clubs in the UK, Spain, Germany and China.
“It’s very likely he will leave Chelsea in January. There are many teams interested in the player.
“In the past we spoke with Inter Milan but now there are a lot of Italian clubs that want him.
“I will not reveal the names, but there are other Italian teams on his trail.
“And beware: even in the UK, Spain, Germany and even in China know the value of the player and requested information about him,” Shittu said.
