Given the choice, Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has revealed that he would sign Neymar over Antoine Griezmann.

When asked who he would prefer to play alongside, Carvajal stated that he favours Neymar ahead of Atletico Madrid star Griezmann, due to his previous experiences defending against the Brazilian.

“Difficult… as I have suffered, I would sign Neymar,” he told El Transistor.

Neymar missed his side’s clash against Real Madrid in the last-16 of the Champions League and had to watch from the sidelines as the Parisians lost 5-2 on aggregate to the Spanish club.

Madrid are currently 15 points adrift of rivals Barcelona who lead La Liga, and Carvajal believes the importance of success on the European stage is crucial for the club as they are presently enduring a difficult domestic campaign. NaijaBet.com

“It was crucial, in the middle of March to only have the league left would have been very bad for us,” he said.

“We knew that we were going to face them at 200 per cent and that was how it was.”

Real Madrid play Juventus in the quarter-final of the Champions League on 3 April.

Is Neymar the better choice?

Certainly a close call, but Carvajal has probably made the right choice.
