Jurgen Klopp’s agent talks up potential Bayern switch

Jurgen Klopp’s agent talks up potential Bayern switch

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s agent believes the German would be a “good fit” for Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga leaders will be out of a manager come the end of the season if Jupp Heynckes decides against extending his contract.

The veteran coach took over the club following the dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti in October and has done more than simply steady the ship – the club’s now 17 points clear at the top of the table ahead of second-placed Schalke, and they face Sevilla in the quarter-finals in the Champions League. NaijaBet.com

With Heynckes unlikely to renew his contract, Bayern have been eyeing up potential replacements – and one such name is Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp’s agent Mark Kosicke doesn’t believe that he will leave Anfield this summer after renewing his deal in 2016, though stressed his client’s talent and skill as a manager.

“He is under contract until 2022 and I don’t think his work is finished [at Liverpool] yet,” Kosicke said to Sport1.

“But you have to bear in mind many factors. When you move to England, you cannot underestimate the lack of a winter break. This reduces your lifetime.

“Coaching one of the big clubs in Europe isn’t something that is unattractive, but everything has to suit. Yes, Bayern are looking for a coach in the summer, but Jurgen has a long contract. At the moment, Jurgen isn’t thinking about coaching another club than the Reds,” added Kosicke. NaijaBet.com

“No coach in the world is bigger than any club. Generally, the club is always bigger. Jurgen isn’t too big for Bayern Munich and Bayern Munich isn’t too big for him. He definitely could do a very good job there.

“Bayern and Klopp would be a good fit, but it isn’t something that is an option at the moment.”

Klopp’s agent then elaborated on why he hasn’t yet coached the German giants, stating that the timing had never been right.

“I have to say that Bayern was often an option because Jurgen knows Uli Hoeness very well. But it was never the right time and nothing definite came of it,” he added.

“Back then Franz Beckenbauer was president and the pair worked together as TV experts during the 2006 World Cup. They get on well and are still in contact. But Jurgen can definitely end his coaching career without having coached Bayern Munich.” NaijaBet.com

Klopp at Liverpool

The affable German has taken Liverpool to new heights since arriving on Merseyside in 2015, securing a top-four finish in his first full season at the club and making sure the Reds progressed to the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in nine years this term.

Klopp has successfully overseen a major squad overhaul at Liverpool, in which he has drafted in the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane to make for a lethal front-three.
