Guti could manage Real Madrid one day – Perez

Former Real Madrid striker Alfonso Perez believes Guti could one day be the manager of the capital club.

Guti is currently in charge of the Real Madrid Under-19s team, and he won the treble last season after guiding his Juvenil A team to triumphs in the Division de Honor, the Copa del Rey Juvenil and the Copa de Campeones.

Meanwhile, this season his side sit third in the domestic league, but his successes with the youth team since joining in 2013 has seen the Real legend draw praise from Madrid supporters. NaijaBet.com

And former Madrid player Perez has backed Guti to one day take charge of Los Blancos, believing the Spaniard should be given the same opportunity that Zidane was presented with.

Talking to Radio MARCA, he said: “Football is very short, and Guti has played for Real Madrid, and he has also trained his coaching with the club.

“He knows the club well, so you have to give him the same opportunity that Zidane was given. NaijaBet.com

“They have spoken very well of Guti as a manager.”

Guti enjoyed an illustrious career with the Spanish giants, winning La Liga on five occasions, the Supercopa de Espana four times, a hat-trick of UEFA Champions League triumphs and the UEFA Super Cup once, as well as the Intercontinental Cup twice. NaijaBet.com

Given that Zidane has come under increasing pressure this season with his side already out of the running for the La Liga trophy, as well as being knocked out of the Copa del Rey, Guti could be in with an outside chance of taking over should Zidane and Real part company this summer.

The Champions League could well define the current manager’s future. Thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s first-leg brace, Zidane’s side look to be heading to the semi-final at least. NaijaBet.com
