Chelsea loanee Ruben Loftus-Cheek tipped to be “hot property” this summer transfer window

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson believes Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be “hot property” in this summer’s transfer window.

The 22-year-old midfielder is currently enjoying a season-long loan at Selhurst Park from boyhood club Chelsea.

His present deal with the Blues in June 2021 and if there is no chance of being part of their squad next season then Hodgson would love to see him return, but the Eagles boss knows they are not his only admirers.

“For Ruben Loftus-Cheek to consider us seriously as an option, we need to be in the league for the kick off. Let’s keep our priorities right and work hard to stay in this league,” he told reporters, according to Goal.

“Then I’m pretty sure we would be saying to Ruben, is it worth having the conversation with Chelsea, could you consider? Then of course the conversation with Chelsea will come around and we will see from there.

“There’s no doubt he is going to be hot property if he has four more games like the last couple.

“If people remember that very good spell he had when we were actually doing quite well, I imagine that he will be hot property. Not just for Crystal Palace but for other teams too.”

How as Loftus-Cheek fared at Palace?

A graduate of Chelsea’s academy, Loftus-Cheek has made 32 senior appearances to date for the reigning Premier League champions, registering two goals and five assists, before taking his talents to Selhurst Park. NaijaBet.com

So far this season he has made 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal in south London, which came in a 2-1 home league win over Stoke City last November, while he has also provided a further four for his teammates.

His performances earned him an England call-up, and Loftus-Cheek subsequently featured in the Autumn 2017 friendlies against Germany – playing the full 90 minutes, picking up the Man of the Match award on his debut – and Brazil. NaijaBet.com

The Three Lions would claim back-to-back goalless draws against two of the favourites for this summer’s World Cup, but an ankle injury prevented him from being included in the recent March friendlies against the Netherlands and Italy.
