Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure believes his Manchester United counterpart Paul Pogba will become the ‘perfect player’.
The City legend will leave the Etihad club this summer after eight years of loyal service. The 34-year-old is expected to play his final game at home against Brighton this week and has recently indicated he would like to stay in the Premier League.
People questioned his move to the club when he signed and due to the high fee of £28 million he was often scrutinised by the fans and media, in a similar fashion to United’s French star Pogba.
Yaya explained that the common criticism of him was his perceived lack of motivation; many were suggesting that he only moved to the Manchester club for the money.

Six major trophies, 314 appearances and 84 goals later Toure believes he has answered those critics and thinks Pogba will do the same.
According to BBC Sport, he said: “I always loved to prove people wrong. I was put under a lot of pressure, as Paul Pogba, who has similar characteristics to me, is now.
“I believe Pogba will become the perfect player. And if they are honest, the people who said things about me will say they were wrong.”
Pogba joined Manchester United in the summer of 2016 for a then world record fee of £89.3m. It has been this fee that has, to a certain degree, increased the pressure on the French midfielder.

In his two seasons at Manchester United, he has played 53 Premier League matches, scoring 10 goals and notching up 14 assists. If we compare this to his last two seasons at Juventus there is a considerable drop-off. During those last two years in Italy, Pogba bagged 16 goals and 15 assists in 61 Serie A games.
Interestingly he has created almost the same number of chances in those two spells, with 92 laid on in his time in Manchester and 91 during those final two years in Piedmont.
In their final two Premier League fixtures, United face a trip to London to take on West Ham before finishing the campaign at Old Trafford against Watford. On 19 May they take on Chelsea in the all important FA Cup final at Wembley.
