Chelsea and Liverpool to battle to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen

Premier League rivals, Chelsea and Liverpool, are keen to sign the 29-year-old Dutchman, who is said to be displeased at not being given enough opportunities.Unhappy at playing second fiddle to German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen at Barcelona, Jasper Cillessen has demanded a move away from the Nou Camp, according to Mundo Deportivo.

With Thibaut Courtois contract set to expire next summer, Chelsea will have to sell the big Belgian if he doesn’t agree to a new contract or lose him on a free next season. PSG and Atletico Madrid, his former club, are interested in signing him, and Chelsea will have to replace him with able hands, hence the speculation surrounding a move for Jasper Cillessen.

Meanwhile, it seems like Jurgen Klopp is determined to replace Loris Karius as Liverpool’s No. 1 as Liverpool have been linked with several goalkeepers recently, including Roma’s Alisson. Cillessen will fit perfectly in Liverpool’s style of play of building from defence.

But the two English clubs aren’t the only ones interested in signing the Barca No. 2. Italian club Napoli are also in the race to sign the Dutchman to replace former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, who has moved on free transfer to AC Milan.

Eden Hazard to decide future after Chelsea manager situation

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has given an update on his future at the club, which may please The Blues’ fans. The Belgian, who is on World Cup duty, said that he will make a decision on his future after the manager situation is sorted out and could stay after assessing the squad for next season.

On asked about his future at the London club, Hazard said to ESPN, “Yeah, I want to know. I want to know, but like I say I am focused on the World Cup.

“If we have something new — manager or players — it is always good to know it because I want players that can [help bring success back to] Chelsea next season. But to be fair the transfer market is not here yet. We will see after.”

Hazard also admitted that the last season was a disappointing one for Chelsea, even though the salvaged some pride by winning the FA Cup.

Jack Wilshere linked with Juventus move

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere’s contract is set to expire at the end of the month, and Juventus may offer the Englishman a new lifeline and offer him a contract, according to football.london.

But the Mirror are reporting that the English midfielder will stay at the club and be offered a three-year contract with an additional 12-month deal.

Wilshere joined the Arsenal as a nine-year-old and has stayed with Gunners throughout, albeit two loan spells at Bolton Wanderers and Bournemouth.

The Sun recently reported that new Arsenal manager Unai Emery, wants to convince the English midfielder to stay and has offered him a contract.

Everton interested in signing Victor Lindelof

Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof may finally get game time in the Premier League, albeit in the blue of Everton. According to the Mirror, the Swede is high on the wishlist of new Everton manager Marco Silva.

The Portuguese manager replaced Sam Allardyce as the manager of the Toffees and the former Hull City manager looks set to spend big money to bring in new players.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has not hinted at selling Lindelof, but he has admitted previously that every player has a price. And with a surplus of centre backs at United, Mourinho may be tempted to sell him if the price is right.
