Spurs youngster Harry Winks marks punditry debut with scathing review of Arsenal defence

Tottenham and England midfielder Harry Winks had some brutal words for north London rivals Arsenal after losing 2-1 to Newcastle United.

The result gave Rafael Benitez cause to declare Newcastle safe from relegation this season.

It was also the Gunners’ fifth consecutive away loss in the league and they are the only Premier League team yet to pick up a point away from home in 2018. NaijaBet.com

Winks appeared as a pundit on BeIN Sports and said: “The defence was all over the place from Arsenal. It’s happened quite a few times this season.

“When they (Arsenal) switch it on they’re a very good side and you’ve got to respect them in that sense. But teams are playing against Arsenal knowing that they can get a good result.

“Newcastle were positive, on the front foot and got their win.”

The Spurs youngster has only made three appearances since the turn of the year having been on the injury table for the most part of 2018. The 22-year-old was on the Qatar version of the broadcast as he has been receiving specialist treatment there for his injury.

Arsenal fans on Twitter were not best pleased with the criticism of their side, especially as it came from a main rival.

Arsenal face West Ham United next Sunday following the loss, fortunately for them it is a home fixture but the line-up is expected to be a weakened one again with the Europa League semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid around the corner. NaijaBet.com
