Antonio Conte has made the bold claim that his Chelsea record outshines Jose Mourinho‘s because of the more difficult circumstances he has faced at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho on the other hand claimed his 72nd victory when he marked his century match for the Blues. But Conte believes his predecessor had an easier job when he reigned at Stamford Bridge.

Conte therefore believes his achievements eclipsed those of his managerial counterpart, as he also points to winning the Serie A title with a struggling Juventus – at the time – as a point of reference.
Asked about him own record, Conte said (according to the Daily Mail): “I could do better. This is my mentality. We could have done better. Mourinho won 72 in the first 100 games?
“We are talking about a great manager. Don’t forget the first 100 games with Mourinho were many years ago.
“For Mourinho, it was a different era in the club’s history. I won a title with Juventus after they finished seventh twice before I arrived. It is a great, great achievement. Not a simple achievement.

Conte and his side face the short journey to Wembley on Sunday as his side take on Southampton in the FA Cup semi-final, with victory taking them to next month’s final against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.
The Italian will be looking to rectify last season’s FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal by clinching his first piece of silverware this season, though Mark Hughes’ Southampton stand in their way first.
