Bayern urged to hire Zinedine Zidane

Former Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn has suggested Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane would be a “perfect” fit to manage the Bundesliga side.

Club veteran Jupp Heynckes’ current deal with Bayern ends at the conclusion of the current season, and the Bundesliga giants could be without a manager if he decides to retire from the game.

Kahn, who spent 14 years with Bayern Munich and amassed 632 total appearances, believes Zidane would be a “sensational” replacement for the German and that he is more than capable of achieving success with the club. NaijaBet.com

The legendary Frenchman won one La Liga and two consecutive European Cups in his time as Real Madrid manager. He is in with a chance of winning his third Champions League trophy this season after winning 3-0 away at Juventus in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.

“Zinedine Zidane is undoubtedly worth considering, I think he’s sensational,” Kahn said to ZDF.

“He has won everything with Real Madrid and can win his third Champions League title. He’s a coach who fits perfectly Bayern Munich’s requirement profile.

“He is French and can speak Spanish, so he could learn German, the question is more what can he do extremely well?

“He can manage a star-studded squad, he was an absolute world star himself, and while many former top players don’t go on to become great coaches, he has.” NaijaBet.com

Zidane is fully decorated as both player and manager, having one both the World Cup and the Euros with France and two Serie A titles, one La Liga trophy, and one Champions League in his role as one of his country’s most treasured midfielders.

Though winning the league this season is impossible as Real Madrid sit 13 points adrift of league leaders Barcelona, they do have a firm chance of winning the Europe’s premier club competition yet again.

A third consecutive Champions League win for the Spanish team would make them the first team since Bayern Munich in the 1980s to achieve such a feat – which would be poetic, in more ways than one, should Zidane be interested in managing the German side.
