Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has confirmed that his side are interested in signing Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on a permanent deal.
However, an ankle ligament injury in April has since cut his spell short, with Batshuayi now back in west London hoping to rehabilitate in time for the World Cup.
But Watzke has not ruled out a return for the Belgian next season, this time on a permanent basis.

“The interest to sign him is basically there,” he told Sport Bild.
“Chelsea have two strikers with [Olivier] Giroud and [Alvaro] Morata anyway.
“But first we have to wait and see who will be Chelsea’s coach next season. Then we’ll see.”
Guaranteed to miss out on the rest of the domestic season, Batshuayi will be watching his parent club from the sidelines on Sunday as they face Southampton at Wembley for a place in the FA Cup Final.
Batshuayi’s brief spell with Dortmund

The Belgian scored seven goals in 10 Bundesliga games for Dortmund, five more than any other player for the club during his spell.
Batshuayi’s seven goals also makes him Dortmund’s second-highest scorer in the league for the entire season, second only to Aubameyang – whose departure to Arsenal started a domino effect of transfers involving Batshuayi to Die Borussen and Giroud to Chelsea.
