Costacurta wants Conte to manage Italy

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is the Italian Football Federation’s (FIGC) preferred option to coach the national team, the governing body’s vice-commissioner Alessandro Costacurta has said.Conte coached Italy from 2014 and led them to the quarterfinals of the 2016 European Championships before joining Chelsea later that year, winning the Premier League title in his debut season.

“I haven’t chosen yet but I think Conte is the one who could do the best,” Former AC Milan defender Costacurta told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday.

Costacurta added that ex-Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini and former AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti are also being considered for the national team role.
