Eagles to face Senegal, Burkina Faso in friendlies Match

The Super Eagles will play the two tune-up games to assess their readiness for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers

Nigeria will face Senegal and Burkina Faso in international friendlies billed for March, the Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed.

The Super Eagles did not feature in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations played in Gabon, and they will use the games against the west Africans to step up preparations for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers. Naija and Bet

Gernot Rohr’s men will take on Senegal on March 23 in London, and will face Burkina Faso four days later.

Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye disclosed that coach Rohr will announce his squad for the ties in few days time.“The Super Eagles will play Senegal on March 23 and Burkina Faso on March 27,” Ibitoye said.

“Both friendly matches will take place in London and the NFF are expected to reveal more details.

“The invitation of players and coaches’ programmes for the friendlies have been sorted out and will be announced soon by the NFF too.

“We believe the game will offer the team [Super Eagles] quality competition that will put them in good shape ahead of our qualifiers.”

The three-time African kings sit atop Group B of the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers with six points from two matches, and will face Cameroon in August. They will also take on South Africa, Libya, and Seychelles in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
