Super eagle defender Elderson Echiejile has moved on loan to Belgian side Standard Liege until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old left back was on the radar of Spanish and French clubs but has instead headed to Belgium from French side AS Monaco on a one-year loan deal with an option to make it permanent after the deal expires. Naijabet
His stock has plummeted since last season as he played second fiddle to Layvin Kurzawa who has moved to Paris Saint-Germain and he has not featured in any Monaco games this season.
Echiejile, who has 50 caps for Nigeria, is away on international duty with the Super Eagles and will link up with his new team after the international break.
He spent three and a half years at the principality club following his move from Portuguese side SC Braga in 2014.
The left back has played for Rennes in France and Braga in Portugal since his move to Europe in 2007.
