Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville is confused by Mohamed Salah’s excellent form this season.
However before arriving at Anfield, the Egyptian had never scored more than 20 goals in a single campaign, and Neville has admitted he is interested to see if Salah can maintain this level of form next season.
“I want to understand whether this is an absolute freak,” Neville told Sky Sports, via Goal.
“You normally see them growing and to me it’s the most intriguing thing about next season.”

“If he goes on to score 43 next season and 40 the year after then he gets into those Messi and Ronaldo numbers.”
The last time the forward played in the Premier League was with Chelsea, where he netted twice in 19 games.
Salah’s own explanation for his drastically improved form is that he wasn’t give enough opportunities at Stamford Bridge. He certainly won’t have that problem next season.
