Isco takes a dig at Real Madrid after first hat-trick for Spain

Spain forward Isco praised the trust that manager Julen Lopotegui instilled in him after he scored three goals, suggesting that he has yet to earn that same trust from Zinedine Zidane at club level Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old has struggled to cement a regular starting place for his club, featuring in 25 La Liga appearances, though he proved his worth for La Furia Roja after striking a hat-trick against Argentina on Tuesday.

They are 15 points adrift of league leaders Barcelona, and their only chance of silverware would be to win a third successive European Cup.

“I have the confidence of the Coach and maybe in Madrid (at club level), I have not won that yet,” Isco told reporters after the game, via Football Italia.

“That’s why the national team is so important for me as it gives me life, if I am not starting and don’t have continuity for my club then I must seize all my chances.

“I aim to be a starter for both my club and international team but the only way I can do that is to keep working hard.

“There are many great players at Real Madrid, maybe I am the problem.” NaijaBet.com

Isco has scored just five goals in La Liga this season, registering five assists and creating 41 chances. He was notably kept on the bench in the El Clasico fixture against Barcelona, which his side lost 3-0.
