Juventus plan talks with Max Allegri amid Arsenal links

Juventus managing director Giuseppe Marotta says the club will undergo talks with coach Massimiliano Allegri at the end of the season amid reported interested from Arsenal.

Allegri has been Juventus manager since the beginning of the 2014-15 campaign, winning the Italian domestic double in each of his first three seasons at the club.

The 50-year-old is on the verge of winning the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia for a fourth successive year.

His success has allegedly attracted the interest of Arsenal, who are on the lookout for a replacement for Arsene Wenger this summer.

And Marotta says talks over Allegri’s future in Turin will begin once the Serie A title is secured.

“With Allegri we have a relationship that has worked and that works,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“At a steady pace, after winning the Scudetto we will talk about the future, which I am sure will be full of happiness together.”

Is Allegri the right man for Arsenal?

Sky Sports claims Allegri is among the frontrunners for the soon-to-be-vacant managerial position at Arsenal, but the Gunners are also looking at former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique.

Allegri’s Juventus lost 3-1 to Enrique’s Barcelona in the 2015 Champions League final – whether that has a bearing on Arsenal’s decision remains to be seen.

Enrique’s unemployment makes him the more approachable candidate, but Allegri’s success in Italy is impossible to ignore.

Juventus face AC Milan in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday.
