Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed defender Per Mertesacker has signed a one-year contract extension with the Gunners.

“Wenger, meanwhile, admitted there were no further updates on the futures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, who are both locked in contract talks amid reports they could leave the Emirates Stadium.
