Victor Moses has dismissed notions that he feigns injury to avoid playing for the Nigeria national team.
Moses raised national outcry and widespread suspicion when he missed Nigeria’s last World Cup qualifier away to Zambia in Ndola.
The suspicions seemed to receive credence following the winger’s electrifying displays for English club Chelsea in matches sandwiching the Zambia game against Hull City and Leicester.
Moses even scored against Leicester and with the knives now out, the winger insistt that he did not lie about his situation.
“I am definitely committed to Nigeria but there have been times when I had a few injuries at the times when I was called up. Place your Bet on Naijabet.com
“In that particular case (which made me miss the game against Zambia), I was actually injured while playing for Chelsea.
“I spoke to the physio and the manager after the game to let them know about the situation.
“I was not a hundred percent fit; I always want to be a hundred percent fit when I play for Nigeria because I want to give my all for the Super Eagles.
“To be honest, whenever I play for the Super Eagles, I want to die on that pitch.
“I love the Super Eagles so much and I want to recreate that feeling that I had after we won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013.
“I am not going to lie; I enjoyed my time (playing for Nigeria) then and I still enjoy playing for the Super Eagles now.
“I always want to play for Nigeria and it is the same with every member of the team, not just me,” he said.
Moses has scored seven goals in 24 appearances for the Super Eagles.
