Owumi new boss of ex-Rangers association

Prince Davidson Owumi, general manager and CEO of Rangers, has been elected as the chairman of the club’s ex-players’ association.

Owumi was elected into the chairmanship position on Tuesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu where he defeated Arthur Egbunam and Stanley Okoronkwo to emerge winner in the poll.

For the post of Secretary, Edmund Ndukanma won with 35 votes against Sunday Emele’s 15 votes.

Christian Isiadinso became the vice chairman after defeating Ifeanyi Ezeji and Ignatius Okafor with 25 votes against 16 and nine votes respectively.

In the post of financial secretary, Michael Ogbodudu defeated Akim Ashiru with 37 votes against 10 votes. NaijaBet.com

The post of publicity secretary, assistant secretary, treasury and welfare officer were unopposed.

Harrison Okagbue became the publicity secretary; Joseph Aniadinso became the treasurer while Napoleon Ilozulu and Ifeanyi Mazili emerged the assistant secretary and welfare officer respectively.

Speaking after the election, the association’s grand patron, Emeka Nwosu, said that the election was free, fair and transparent.

Nwosu, who is also the senior special adviser to Anambra State Governor on inter-party affairs, advised the new executive led by Owumi to work in harmony and take the association to greater heights. NaijaBet.com


“As u can see a new chairman emerged in Davidson Owumi and I think everything went smoothly and there are no manipulation of any sort,” he said.

He urged them to incorporate those ex-Rangers who are absent at the election and those that are passionate about the association.

The ex-chairman, Christian Chukwu, noted that the swearing-in and handover ceremony to the new executives will be held next week and promised to communicate the date to the members.
