Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is planning to launch legal action against former Belgium coach Marc Wilmots after he accused the goalkeeper and his father of leaking team news.
Wilmots’ comments were initially made during an interview with BeIN SPORTS, where he told reporters that Courtois and his father Thierry had leaked team selection news during the 2016 European Championship in France.
The 25-year-old posted: “Mr Wilmots – not for the first time – reiterates publicly and intentionally (makes) accusations against my honour and my reputation.
Thierry Courtois also gave his opinion on Wilmots comments, telling Belgian publication DH: “I never in my life communicated a team composition to any journalist.
“Being a top player and also in a technical staff of a European level club, I know how delicate it is.
Wilmots was sacked by the Belgium national team after their defeat to Wales in the quarter-final of the 2016 European Championship, where Courtois hinted in 2016 that he told the then head coach to resign from his position after the defeat.

The former Schalke 04 midfielder’s latest managerial stint was with the Ivory Coast national side, though he left his position last year after just six months in charge due to the nation’s failure to qualify for the World Cup this summer.
