Wenger: Man Utd won’t park the bus against Arsenal

Arsene Wenger expects Manchester United to play on the front foot when they travel to play Arsenal on Saturday. Drop your predictions.

The Gunners are in fine form in front of their home fans and beat Jose Mourinho’s men at the Emirates last season. Arsenal thrashed Huddersfield 5-0 last night, extending their winning run on their own patch to 12 games.

But despite their imposing record, Wenger isn’t expecting bitter rival Mourinho to shut up shop and be content to play for a point.

Asked if he thinks the visitors will ‘park the bus’, he said: “No, I don’t expect anything special.

“I just expect us to be ready to recover now. Man United is a strong team and I expect us just to cope with the problems they will give us. They will attack as well. They will not only defend.

“It is a game between Arsenal and Man United at home. I just want to focus and to prepare well my team, and give my team a good chance to win the game. Man United is doing well at the moment, we are doing well at the moment, so it looks to be a promising game.”

Wenger expects to have Alexis Sanchez fit to play United. The Chilean limped off on Wednesday night with a hamstring problem. But the Gunners boss is remaining upbeat.

“Sanchez had a little hamstring problem – that’s why I took him off but I think he will be alright,” Wenger said.
