Champions League 2018 semi-final draw in full: Mo Salah returns to Roma

Liverpool have been drawn against Roma in the Champions League semi-finals, avoiding a difficult tie against the holders Real Madrid.

The European champions will face Bayern Munich, with the Germans playing at home first.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will also play their first leg at home on April 24th or 25th before the return fixture on May 1st or 2nd.

The tie will see Mohamed Salah return to his former club. The Egyptian spent two years at Roma before joining Liverpool last summer.

Liverpool are the only remaining English side in the competition having beaten Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.

The Reds followed up their 3-0 home win with a 2-1 comeback victory at the Etihad to book their place in the final four.

Real Madrid survived a huge scare against Juventus, relinquishing a 3-0 aggregate lead by going three goals down in the second leg at the Bernabeu.

But Cristiano Ronaldo’s stoppage-time penalty saw them edge through, which can’t be said for Madrid’s La Liga rivals Barcelona.

Ernesto Valverde’s side were stunned by Roma, who came back from a 4-1 first leg deficit to progress on away goals.

Meanwhile, Bayern reached the final four in a quieter fashion, beating Sevilla 2-1 on aggregate following a goalless draw in the second leg in Germany.
