Zlatan Ibrahimovic hails AC Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso: “There aren’t many like him”

New LA Galaxy star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has hailed former AC Milan teammate Gennaro Gattuso, insisting that “there aren’t many like him”.

Ibrahimovic – who scored two goals on his debut for LA Galaxy on Saturday – played 85 games for Milan, scoring 56 goals in the process.

The Swede won both the Serie A title and the Supercoppa Italiana during his short stay at the club, alongside Gattuso.

The Italian is now the manager of Milan who lost 3-1 to Serie A rivals Juventus on Saturday, another of Ibrahimovic’s former clubs.

The MLS striker spoke of his respect for his former teammate and how he admires both his hunger and desire to succeed in football.

“I know Gattuso as a teammate. You don’t need to explain how to win to Gattuso, he knows very well,” the Swede said in a press conference, as reported by Football Italia.

“He has a lot of hunger to win, he is doing great things for the club.

“I am happy for him because I like him as a person and I liked him as a player.

“He is someone who motivates you a lot – not just on the pitch but off it as well.

“There aren’t many like him. If I were going to war, he is one person I would take with me. NaijaBet.com

“He is always by your side if you need it.”

Gattuso played 467 times for AC Milan in a highly successful career for the Italian club.

The 73-cap Italy international won two Serie A titles, two Champions Leagues, a Coppa Italia, two UEFA Super Cups, a FIFA Club World Cup, and two Supercoppas. NaijaBet.com
